Privacy Policy
Svala helps you set daily limits for selected apps and websites using Apple's Screen Time technologies. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled by Svala, how it is used, and how to contact us.
Information you provide
Svala does not require an account for its core limiting features. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.
Information stored on your device
The app stores settings needed to operate your limits, such as selected app or website tokens, daily limit values, temporary unlock state, app preferences, and onboarding status. This information is stored on your device and, where needed for Screen Time extensions, in the app's shared app group container.
Screen Time data
Svala uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to let you select apps and websites, monitor limits, and display shields. These Apple frameworks are permission-based. Svala uses the data exposed by those frameworks only to provide the app's limiting and unlocking features.
Rewarded ads and consent
Svala may offer optional rewarded ads as one way to earn extra time. Ads are provided through Google Mobile Ads and Google's consent tools. Depending on your region, device settings, and consent choices, Google and its partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, diagnostics, and other data described in Google's policies.
Where required, Svala presents consent options before requesting ads. You can review or change available privacy choices from within the app when those choices are required.
How information is used
- To save and apply your app and website limits.
- To monitor selected activity and show shields when limits are reached.
- To grant optional temporary unlocks after a challenge or rewarded ad.
- To remember app preferences such as appearance and onboarding state.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
Sharing
Svala does not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by Apple as part of the operating system features used by the app, and by Google or its advertising partners when you use ad-supported features. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the app, users, or others.
Children
Svala is not intended to collect personal information directly from children. Family Controls permissions and device-level restrictions are managed through Apple's systems. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Data retention
Limit settings remain on your device until you change them, reset the app, or delete the app. Support emails may be retained as long as needed to respond and maintain records of the request.
Your choices
- You can change or remove limits inside the app.
- You can revoke Screen Time permissions in iOS settings.
- You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
- You can use available in-app privacy options to update advertising consent where applicable.
- You can contact us to ask about privacy requests related to information you have provided to us directly.
Third-party links and policies
Third-party services used by the app may process information under their own policies. Relevant policies include Apple's privacy materials and Google's advertising and privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Svala develops or as legal, technical, or business requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page.
